Yeah I get the same thing with messages saying they were moderated. Only way to get rid of the notification is to delete the original message.

Nope... click the little button beside the message and go to the bottom and select 'Approve Messages"

I think it was intended for pending comments because of spammers, trolls, threatening strangers, etc
