It wasn't that long ago that Ranucci contacted Zod wanting to do a tailgate for us. He had bought a new cooker and needed some guinea pigs to try out the cooker and see what it was like to cater an event. Over the years he has tried new dishes and experimented new food ideas letting us try them for the first time at tailgates. Now he does it full time and is opening a new restaurant next week in Belmont. If you happen to live around Belmont, try it out at 403 E. Catawba St. Belmont, NC 28012. Their number is 704-825-4472.

Alex had a party that wanted him to cater their tailgate on Sunday. He originally told them he couldn't do it because he was already booked. I told him to go ahead and make it happen somehow so he is going to also cook for another group beside us and is donating all his profit from that to Toys for Tots.

That's the kind of person he is and I'm thankful he found us years ago.

Any special requests?
Big rig is in the shop but should be ready to go this weekend. We almost lost the roof after a beam snapped coming home from the Charlotte comp this past weekend.

Any newcomers will have to talk to Z, or the ghost before eating, that is all...

My son is ready for some more Z.

That was just wrong Andy....watching that poor boy doing laps around the parking lot after eating Z was sad....funny as hell, yet still sad.

Agree 100%.

Not only does he cook some of the best damn BBQ I have ever eaten (who knew that a little poo from NY could could BBQ)....but he is one of the nicest and most generous people I have met.

The Huddle is damn lucky to have people like Alex and Andy ensuring that the Huddle Tailgates continue to be a success.

Remember....we tailgate for the kids.

Nice to know that 100-200 kids will wake up Christmas morning with a bike under the Christmas Tree becuase of the generosity of people like Alex, Andy, Tailgate Sponsors, and all of the Huddle masses that show up and donate their hard earned cash.

I tried deep sea fishing once....but I get VERY sea sick. Was not a pleasant day.

Only time I want to be on a boat in the ocean is when I am heading to a dive site. I am an avid scuba diver.

Didn't know that. We can talk about it Sunday. I have my advanced open water cert and dive a couple of times a year. Agree on the bobbing part. Much better under the water.

I'll be coming down from Raleigh if I can find tickets at a decent price.
