Seems like a good move for Waltrip racing.

Sirius XM NASCAR Radio's Sirius Speedway with Dave Moody has learned that Clint Bowyer is near agreement on a new, multi-year contract with Michael Waltrip Racing, with an announcement expected within the next 24-48 hours. Bowyer will leave Richard Childress Racing at season's end, after being unable to come to terms with the team for which he has competed for his entire NASCAR Sprint Cup Series career. The Emporia, Kansas, native is reported to have spoken -- at least preliminarily -- with at least four teams; Richard Petty Motorsports, Roush Fenway Racing, Earnhardt-Ganassi Racing and Michael Waltrip Racing. MWR emerged as the leading candidate within the last two weeks, and now, final details are being wrapped up that will put Bowyer in an MWR Toyota Camry next season as a teammate to Martin Truex, Jr., and David Reutimann. Sponsorship will come from Five Hour Energy. The multi-year deal is in the final stages of negotiation, with an official announcement expected this weekend at Chicagoland Speedway

He supposedly burned the bridge with RCR because he thought he was signing with Petty and after Petty backed out of the deal he had nowhere to go but MWR. Sucks for him.

That's what he gets. What a dipshit.

I really thought he was smarter than that. Definitely an inflated sense of self.

All the smack that Bowyer has talked about MW over the years and now MW is gonna be his boss. Hilarious!

Why's he a dipshit for this? MWR has some decent equipment and has put up some wins. They're not gonna compete with Hendrick, Rousch, and RCR, but MWR does have some wins under their belt. Other than the trashtalk that Bowyer has done over the years toward Waltrip, he could have done much worse.

Bowyer was third in line at RCR. Understand why he wanted to leave. Good driver but I dont see him doing much at MWR. Not because of MWR equipment.

I like Bowyer's personality, but I don't see him doing much no matter who he's with.
