Well because I have come to realize after following the Draft that the majority of football fans view of these athletes are swayed by the filtering of our media. And sadly, IMO, our media seems more driven by sensationalism and drama and the need to dictate to fans based on nothing more than stereotypical biases. I'm from the old school of sports following.

I get the feeling that we're encouraged to playdown Cam's strenghts and achievements by demanding him to do more but use him to help play up the strengths and achievements of QBs like Blaine.

If Cam and Dalton can do it then why can't Gabbert? Especially against us, it's not like we've been shutting other QBs down.

Well basically this. http://www.carolinah...x-match-up.html

Dalton and Cam have it and Yo Gabba dont.

@Snake Fist: Locker says Hello!

Locker is a poor mans Jay Cutler.

Stereotyped Cam?
I didn't see what you did. What many did address is the risk which is justified. History has proven that there is risk around guys with only 1 year of success at an elite level. Also run first spread QBs have shown to have more risk than pro system guys like Gabbert. And the mistakes Cam made showed there was some history of bad judgement in his past. Cam's work ethic was praised. His love for football was praised. No one that I saw doubted Cam's ridiculous upside. From what I saw the media laid out the facts and looked at them logically. Cam was the swing for the fences pick, Gabbert was the pick with the least risk. There was nothing wrong or stereotypical about that thinking.

First off I want to say that I am so glad that we drafted Cam. I believe without doubt he is the best qb in this years draft and possibly any other going back to Peyton. With that being said, I hear alot of people talking negatively about Blaine. Just as Cam's naysayers ultimately didn't effect where he was drafted and his amazing success so far, you and I talking negative about Gabbert is not going to change a thing. He is going to be who he is going to be. Just as it was unwise to speak negatively about Cam before he even played an nfl game, it is not wise to do the same to Blaine. Lets wait till after Sundays game before rushing to judgement. I dont wish anything bad for Gabbert, Jax has needed a franchise qb as bad as us. I just want our Cam to be the undisputable best qb of this class and really of any.

Ur kidding.....What makes Gabbert a safer risk? Cause he looks the part? How do any of us know whether Gabbert isn't another Ryan Leaf or Jamarcus Russell.

Please, ur argument may sound good but it's based on nothing substantial, just shallow observations presented to u by the filtering of the media and personal bias...So u made my point...
