Its not the smartest thing you could do. But if someone would have told me a couple of years ago that I could have a QB with Smittys heart :party:

We did, Delhomme. He just didn't have the skill to go with it.

I was thinking and thought...wait just b/c he's a journalist doesn't mean he hears everything correctly, Cam may have dropped the F bomb but maybe not have said F.U. (which I think is absolutely unacceptable in that context. (I think F.U. is the worst thing you can say to someone)) Luckily another journalist refuted that statement.

Eric Edholm's take:

Sorry, just catching up with Twitter, was on deadline. Basically Olsen tried to console Newton, saying he gave team a chance to win. CONT'D

CONT'D And Newton wasn't having any of it. He brushed off Olsen and said a word I can't type. Just frustration playing out, kid HATES losing

That's not how I heard it, no. RT @Pantherfan81: @Eric_Edholm This happened?: http://t.co/dKo8i5im Confirm or deny please.

And there's another take. Glad he answered me :)

QB is a different position than WR. It isn't fair but it is true.

This is a non-story if anyone else does it other than Cam. Not because of a perceived hate on Cam, but because he is the QB.

Again, it isn't fair but it is the life of a starting NFL QB.

Yeah, I didn't think so. Stupid twitter makes the propagation of BS too easy.

Good I hope he didn't say f you to Olsen. I have no problem with the word itself or saying it to a ref or an opponent but not a guy who's fighting alongside of you for the exact same thing....happy to hear that may not have been how it went down....

I bet he did say it and yeah he shouldn't have, but Olsen shouldn't have been smiling telling him "good game" either. Bad on both men but he apologized so it's over. Move on.

If he did then I lost a little respect for CAM. Leaders don't do that to their teammates. I have played and coached at high levels and good game is just a phrase that guys say to each other for lack of a better phrase. What Olsen should off said was good game except for that pass you forced into double coverage that was a pick 6 and ended up being the difference in the game. Other than that good game.

Sadly, there are reporters who will do things because they feel they can get a good headline the next day. Especially if it's someone like Cam, who is already a media lighten-rod.

JPerson showed the difference between that guy and professional reporters. Not for nothing, reporters don't want to be banned from team's locker-rooms because of their immature peers. There is a code in every team locker-room, don't kid urself.

I'm sure J Person wouldn't have even mentioned it or if he did, mentioned it as Cam being a bit testy; not repeating what Cam said. I guess this reporter wanted a "Peter King, Entertainer/Icon" moment.

I have played and at high levels as well and I would tell you this happens often. A couple of pages back I gave an example of doing it myself.

I am not excusing Cam but that is the nature of competitive athletes. My basketball teams got into fist fights just playing pick up.

We also won because of that spirit. A lot.

As for the bold printed part. If you said that to me after a tough loss you would be on the injured reserve by the end of your sentence. It also proves that you are talking out of both sides of your ass.

"I lost respect for Cam... but Greg shoulda told him good game but it is your fault we lost"

Ur right...It's sad some of these panther fans try their best to hide their true colors behind fakery.

you mean the pass that hit Naanee in both hands?

Maybe Olsen should of showed up during the first 3 quarters of the game and done something besides getting penalities.

Cam is setting the tone. Time for the rest to get on the page. It is about winning.....nothing more. Sounds like Cam just got upset Olsen felt the need to spin the loss and find a positive. Newton doesn't want this team to find moral victories in a loss.
