Inside the numbers: Cam Newton - Week 5

Recommended Posts

I post these videos because of my love for the Panthers, no other reason. For those of you that share the same love, I have no problem with you sharing these with others. I will continue to list these as "unlisted" in youtube, so you'll need the link to do so.

edit: My DVR cut off right before the last play of the game, so the Hail Mary play is missing.

well lookn back at that 3rd and 2, the matchup wasnt horrible, they had 8 in the box and one on one on the outside, a better thrown ball woulda been money. Gotta live and learn, but at least we aren't settling for FG's in the red zone this week.

Man, I hate that Cam got his route mixed up with Smitty on that first play. He's been making fewer and fewer weird throws each game though.

Seems to me one of our problems is that cam struggles with zone coverage. Well that and the lack of a true burner besides Smith.

Like I said we're missing speed. Granted Gettis is out, but we need speed WR on the field

Man I can't wait for him to be back next year. I think not as many people are thinking about him because his injury happened so early in camp and he doesn't play defense, but he would be HUGE right now I believe.

I keep looking at that 3rd and 2 and if there wasn't a miscommunication between newton and smith (Newton threw it outside while Smith was inside) it would have definitely iced that game. The more I like it, the more I like that call.

I didn't notice Sunday how Naanee just dove to end his big play. Looked like he was scared of getting hit. Any other receiver on our team that would potentially have been a TD.

Let's hope we get a gem in our next draft class, a dominant defender in the 1st round would be nice and a speedy return specialist mid draft would be nice
