I would trade a 4th only if he is going to resign. Cut Tutu or Nanee. It would be for security because we don't know how Gettis is going to be once he recovers. Also we have needed a true #2 for a long time now and he fits the bill perfectly.

Why? He hasn't had a chance to play? We've seen what Naanee can do, and obviously he should be cut.

Youth movement was last year, catch up!

If we weren't still on a youth movement we would have Carlos Rodgers, Jamal Williams, Pat Williams on the team right now contributing, and when did Hurney say we weren't gonna just build thru the draft anymore? Wake up!!!

I just said Tutu because he has not even seen the field this year. I rather keep him over Nanee but Rivera likes Nanee for some reason.

All this talk makes me excited for the crop of FA's that might actually desire playing here next year.

In theory though wouldn't the Donkeys get a 4th if they keep Lloyd and he walks. So trade him and get a 2012 4th or keep him and get a 2012 4th.

If Im not mistaken if they lose him to free agency they wouldn't get the compensatory pick until 2013

I'd be wary of that trade. He's 30 and really only had one good year and one decent year.

On second thought, no way

And exactly who has he had throwing him the ball???

Garcia when Lloyd was a rookie and played sparingly.

Alex Smith for 2 years in SF

Jason Campbell for 2 years in Washington

Rex Grossman/Kyle Orton in Chicago

He didn't play much at all the first year with Cutler in Denver due to injury. Last year with Orton he put up career numbers.

What exactly would you expect???

sadly no. hes 30 and id rather see what our other guys can do (just not nannee). he wouldnt even get the second spot here because nannee is starting because he straightens everything out at the LOS. lloyd knows our system even less than lafell, pilares or gettis. lloyd is also a bit on the small side, without the same toughness as smith. we'd be hurting even more in the run game without a solid blocker as our number 2.

You don't get compensation for a player you trade for during the season.

If he leaves in 2012 we get a compensatory pick in 2013.

I would be tempted, but it would be a luxury. Which, really, is the kind of thing I think you spend a 4/5th round pick for.

The type of DT talent we need is 1st or 2nd round. So what are we going to draft with our 5th rounder that will help the team more than Lloyd?

Yes. I think... a 5th sounds fair...

Just have a hard time committing to that being that no one even wanted this guy up until last year. He was close to being on his way out of the league until he broke out with Denver.
