I went over every team's record and schedule and right now I see us going 6-10 and picking 10th overall. There are quite a few teams who should finish worse than us record-wise: Rams, Dolphins, Colts, Vikes, Broncos, Jags, Cardinals, Browns, & Chiefs.

Picking at 10 our options will likely range from Kirkpatrick (possibly), Vontaze Burfict, Michael Floyd, Alameda Ta'amu, Morris Claiborn, etc. My personal preference would be to trade down and pick up an extra 2nd rounder. We should be able to considering that there will likely be 4 QB's projected to go in the 1st round and some teams will be looking to trade up for one.

If we can trade down, get Zach Brown, Ta'amu, Michael Floyd, Janoris Jenkins, or whoever, and still pick up another 2nd rounder (or even a 3rd rounder) we should jump all over that.

I see us going 5-11, 4-12, Top 5 pick, we need to trade that away for more picks and pic, up Ta'amu in the first and in depending if we do trade down and what we get. Get a 3-4 OLB or DE. Ta'amu is looking more and more like a good pick right now.

I think its a little early to start this but I'll play along.

1st: Vontaze Burfict LB ASU

2nd: Xavier Rhodes CB FSU (this is why its hard he might declare)

2nd (if he doesn't): Mohammed Sanu WR Rutgers

4th: Mike Martin DT Michigan

5th: Jamell Fleming CB Oklahoma

6th: Joe Adams WR Arkansas (big time sleeper)

7th: Elliot Henigan DT Birmingham

I think a lot just changed with the news from earlier today, I'll post an updated Mock later on with the thought of the team moving to the 3-4 base next season.

I wonder if this whole 3-4 talk will affect our draft for next year...picking up some players in the front 7 that fit the system...maybe a tweener like Melvin Ingram or a 5 tech like Jared crick

Even better if Crick slips to the 2nd after his injury.

I'd love that I think he would fit either system we choose next year. And Ingram could be a situational player in a 4-3

Ingram would be more of an OLB/DE no?

Yeah that's what I was thinking maybe slide inside on passing downs. But the thing about this 3-4 switch is that it could put the McClain pick to waste unless he develops into a nice 5 tech because I think fua could be a future nose while he learns the game behind Ron edwards

I can get behind that round 1, SCP. I'm still far from sold on Ta'amu, but IF we do switch to heavily using 3-4 (50% or more) I could see the pick. If we're not switching that heavily to it, I think Claiborne might be a better pick at that spot with those players available. I also don't think 4 QBs go in the top 10.

I also think it'd be a little suspect for Fox to spend two high 1st round picks in a row on LBs, but I wouldn't be shocked.
