So do you feel like had we drafted Dalton, we'd be faring better than we are now? Is he doing something that Cam isnt? Please explain, since Cam isnt a lock. Tell me exactly what Dalton is doing that makes him an "anchor". Keep in mind, you're talking to someone who's watched both teams play several times this season.

wow. it's like trying to explain to a five year old why the sky is blue. i'm not sure how many different ways i need to explain the same thing...but here goes.

i don't put much stock into rookie QBs. why? because if a team relys on a rookie to lead them, you end up with the 2010-2011 carolina panthers. if you rely on the rest of the team to carry the rookie QB, you get the 2011 bengals.

with the way the bengals as a team is playing, all dalton has to do is not make a lot of mistakes and he's got a very good chance to make roty.

cam has to play lights out on a losing squad to even get noticed. if he falters enough to nullify what he's already accomplished, he's not a lock.

the panthers would be the same losing squad if dalton (or ANY rookie QB) was under center because this team is not ready for a rookie QB. they should have fixed the defense and used it's overpaid backfield more than they have.

i'm pretty sure i called it before anyone else. the defense was going to be the reason the team wasn't going to win games this season. sadly, i was right.

that's the last time i respond to the same thing with you. i don't do nascar. you only get one lap from me.

we haven't been losing because of Cam. I thought everyone agreed to this. If Dalton was here we would be 0-6

You don't know that.

we'd be 1-5 if Dalton was here instead of Cam probably, but I don't believe we'd be any better.

Now if we had Dalton AND someone else, who knows.

but this season's record unfortunately doesn't end up mattering much. We'll see how things shake out next year I guess.

I don't know about 0-6, but I don't know how many games a 5 year vet could have won with this defense.

So the poster who's been massaging Andy Dalton's kneecaps all in this thread and defiantly answers "Cam isnt a lock!" like Dalton is his bitch, doesnt "put much stock in rookie QBs". f**k outta here. Talk about double speak. He also wont answer some pretty clear cut direct questions because in his heart he knows this team wouldnt be poo with Andy "anchor" Dalton starting. I'll take your little jabs at me as a sign of you getting emotional and upset about this number28. No need to be mad, just understand, outside of you and a handful of other "fans" nobody believes Dalton is having a better year than Cam. Most understand the Bengals are having a better year than the Panthers. There is a difference.

There is a difference, but the magnitude of the difference between how the teams are doing may be so much greater than the magnitude of the difference between the stats of the two players by the end of the year that Dalton may end up winning it.

certainly Manning had questions but nothing even remotely like what The Golden Calf of Bristol had coming out.

I don't really think the media or the internet forums do much to influence the actual talent evaluators in clubs that are passing judgment on players... and The Golden Calf of Bristol is one many teams passed on for a reason.

So u're saying that the Broncos didn't bow to the pressure from the media to start Tim?

This has 5 pages.. I don't care what dalton or green are doing, I'm not a bengals fan. If some of you like them so much join their bandwagon and quit stroking their cocks on a panthers board.

Oh and last a checked the roty didn't come with a free playoff berth. Think cam or dalton will give 2 poos about an award when their sitting at home watching other teams play in the postseason..

lol, no, they bowed the fact the team fugging blew and Tim might just give them a spark to bring them to a win. Fox isn't going to cave this early.

if the media had anything to do with it he'd have been starting weeks ago...

I believe if we end up 2-14 or 3-13 Cam wouldn’t even want ROTY..He wants to win above all. Its too early to make a final judgment but Dalton is playing good. Its about wins and if Dalton keeps racking them up he’ll get ROTY. I would have no problem with that because I honestly think Cam would see it the same way if we keep losing.

Me too, but the problem with this is the Panthers gave away their 2nd rounder in order to draft another quarterback, :( So picking Dalton was out.

hurney's the trade master.

if he wanted to pull it off, he could have. :D

the bengals weren't struggling?

how is 4-12 not struggling?

they also lost two of their starting WRs and arguably their best cornerback... I mean yeah their defense was still okay, but so was ours...

many people thought the Bengals would be in a race for Luck this year. They were considered to be the most disfunctional team ever, ready to explode at any moment. Instead they're contending... and Dalton has played a part in that.

None of that should take away from how Cam has kept us in games, but Dalton deserves credit for helping right that sinking ship.

Who are the many???

The Bengals wouldn't have been in the market for a QB if Carson wasn't acting like a two year old.

Anyway, take nothing away from Dalton but he didn't win the first game. The back up QB did. And it was won convincingly...So that is saying a lot. Dalton only really has one win over Cam..

sidenote...NFLN is re-airing the Lions/49ers game now. I guess they will be showing it all the way to the end. I wonder if the coaches are miked???Talk about highligh of the game..

Anyway, back to the topic. Did u say ur defense was better last year??? were they better cause the offense wasn't that good or were they actually better? also the Bengals beating the Panthers because of the defense and everyone thought that they d-team would tighten up come real season...So much for that thought.
