Brandon Hogan Says He's Ready To Play

73 posts in this topic

as to Hogan, the worst possible thing we could do right now is rush him back...

He is going to be desperate to play, just force him to sit and learn this week Ease him back in to special teams after that, if he is doing well and feels fine after special teams vs Minnesota, then give him some time with the defense after the bye.

He's been sitting and learning since August, that's what they do when they're injured. They don't just go home and play nintendo.

I don't think he should play, but just to make sure he's healthy. 1 more week of learning doesn't mean much.

Sit during the game, learn in practice. Perhaps I should have been more clear.

It is with Hogan as it is with Fua, McClain etc... With those stupid CBA rules that says only one padded practice, the young guns gets more NFL "training" on sundays than through the week.

It isn't really with Hogan as it is with Fua, McClain, etc... Those guys actually had practice in the preseason and have been able to practice every week so far this year. Yes, the practices are limited, but drills and limited practice > being unable to practice at all as far as readiness to play the game goes.

With the whole "building for the future" mentality of starting these young guys, we don't need Hogan to contribute this Sunday, but for years to come. I have trouble seeing how a guy with one week of practice, even if he has been absorbing through the entire year, could really make such a huge immediate difference that it is worth the risk of playing him this week.

Then again, I am known for being a bit too cautious I think. :P

So who is to be cut? Brandon Hogan is NOT on the active list of players, so for him to be on that list someone has to be cut.

I guess Josh Thomas or RJ Stanford

No need to bring in Hogan at this point. Sometimes you have to protect players from themselves. Really need a year for an ACL to heal. Not saying you can't come back before, but why risk it. We have enough serious injuries on this team and don't need to add another one.
