Huge fan of this guy. Love his show and it's hard to argue that this guy doesn't have the best gig in the entire world. He's also coming to Charlotte to speak soon.

PS: He is talking about Eastern NC bbq. Not any of this red sauce sh1t you westerners eat. Western bbq is for yankees and fags.

There's a reason why Bill Ellis has 25 catering trucks, 3 of them semi's, and caters all over the US and Canada: Eastern NC BBQ. That's not including what's shipped out of the restaurant overseas.

When I went to ECU, my Dad would take plastic bags into Bill Ellis BBQ and smuggle some out. It was quite embarrassing.

When Bill's served the Panthers, over half the team thought the corn sticks were french fries. They had no clue what they were. I was PISSED I couldn't go on that one with my husband. No women at all allowed.

I worked at Woodlands BBQ in Blowing Rock when I was a teenager, it's sort of a legendary spot for BBQ in NW NC, it's sauceless chopped pork, you sauce it yourself. Vinegar based BBQ sauces.

I love good BBQ whether Eastern or Western. Lexington BBQ is the best I've ever had, Stamey's was good but has gone downhill, Allen & Son's is decent, and I just had Parker's in Greenville a couple weeks ago and it was good too. Nothing beats Lexington in my mind though. Oh, and for the people who use thick BBQ sauce instead of vinegar based...screw you for ruining the meat.

The Pitt in Raleigh is the best BBQ place, followed by Woodlands, follow by Sledge Hammer Charlies, followed by Lexington BBQ, follow by Hickory Smokehouse.
