Will Rivera break the "no back-to-back winning seasons" curse?

I think he will, definitely. I also think he'll be the next Panthers coach to take the team to the playoffs in his second season as HC. Bright days are ahead for the Panthers.

Just when I thought the Huddle was on the verge of blowing up...

It nose dived. I was expecting way more optimism after a win.

Why dont we just let Newton coach the team? If we just had Newton and an O-line I think we'ld be fine.

Anybody??????

I don't think we will have a winning season this year so the answer is no. I do think he will have winning seasons in year 2 and 3.

I love me some optimism....especially when it goes along with my pre-season prognostication of 9-7....I'm off by two so far, but I'd make some changes to the remaining games...

1 Sep 11 CAR @ ARI - W.....oops, I hate how this one played out...close/no cigar

2 Sep 18 GB @ CAR - L....closer than I thought

3 Sep 25 JAC @ CAR - W...right on

4 Oct 02 CAR @ CHI - W- Highly charged emotions for this one....and disappointing

5 Oct 09 NO @ CAR - L....again, closer than I thought

6 Oct 16 CAR @ ATL - L....dammit

7 Oct 23 WAS @ CAR - W....right on :)

8 Oct 30 MIN @ CAR - W

9 Bye

10 Nov 13 TEN @ CAR - W

11 Nov 20 CAR @ DET - L

12 Nov 27 CAR @ IND - L

13 Dec 04 CAR @ TB - L

14 Dec 11 ATL @ CAR - W

15 Dec 18 CAR @ HOU - W

16 Dec 24 TB @ CAR - W

17 Jan 01 CAR @ NO - L

9-7.....2-4 inside NFC South- No Playoffs- I probably have my Homervision glasses on....plus I picked 10-6 last year, I thought Matt Moore would pan out.

Then your answer is yes. I didn't say the first winning season would be this season.

I respectfully have to disagree with your calander. When you say that Rivera will score back to back winning seasons in his first two seasons, most people will assume you mean this season and the next...considering this is his first season as a head coach for the Carolina Panthers.

Now, if you meant to say that Ron Rivera will have back-to-back winning seasons at some point as the head coach of the Carolina Panthers....then yes, I agree with you.

edit: unless, of course, the "lockout" shortened offseason has lead you to discounting this season as a "full" season...in which case, you are completely correct.
