What every gamer expected has finally happened: Rockstar Games has officially announced Grand Theft Auto V today.

By officially announced I mean they have confirmed its existence and released the logo design as can be seen above. Beyond that there are no details about the actual game.

The announcement was made via the RockstarGames Twitter account, which just included the #GTAV tag and a link to the main website. Visiting the site presents you with the fullscreen logo.

We won’t have to wait long to see the game in action, though. Rockstar also confirmed that the first trailer will appear on November 2nd

Hopefully it's more like San Andreas and less like 4, I really hate how they took out a lot of the gameplay, I know they tried to make a more serious game but I could never got as much into the story or character.

i honestly loved the first 2.

liked san andreas as well and played 2 compaigns of 4 before I through the game out the window and my dog took a shiit on it and buried it under ground.

What they need is to do is make the main story about more than one character and allow for complete campaign co-op. If you had SA or IV but let people play through a campaign with their buddies. Not a modified one, but a complete campaign experience cooperatively. That would be tight.

Loved III. Vice City was alright. Quit playing after that. Might try this one out.

It's really only fun for driving around and causing chaos. I've really only played GTA 4 and I thought there were a tons of flaws in the game. The controls were clunky at times, the chase missions were a bitch because of the shitty driving cars, and it was just too much of a pain to get invested into the story. I've had the game for 2 years and I'm only like 5% through it.

SA was the best! I didn't play 4, but if they took the humor out of the game then what is the point?

It WAS the best. The distances weren't that far, but it really did feel like three separate cities. And the Area 51 parody was stupid/silly and so out of context with the rest of the game it was fun.

And yes, I downloaded the hot coffee mod. It added to the humor factor (and was actually kind of hard to do with the "higher level" chicks).

Saints Row 2 was actually the same kind of fun. I'm looking forward to SR3.
