A What If...Thread (No Trade Deadline Edition)

13 posts in this topic

Yea yea, i know that if the NFL did not enforce a trade deadline, NFL team trades would be a mess. Still that got me wondering if no trade deadline was enforce, at 2-6 who will the Panthers decide to trade for help?

also how will that impact the Free Agent Market? can somebody say "you want that in plastic or paper?"

Seriousy people, he's trying to start a thread to generate conversation (everyone's opinion at that), and you all bash him and call him dumb. Yea he might have a low post count, but that doesn't mean he's dumb.

But onto the OP topic, I think at 2-6 at the bye we have no real shot at the playoffs, no need to trade for a stop gap player midway through the season, especially being a young team. Let the young guys gain experience and try to improve their game. Use FA for players in case of injuries and throughout the offseason improve the team through the draft and FA/Trades.

The idea of starting a thread is to introduce information not yet known by forum members. Its not a way to start conversation.

Clearly the Panthers should trade their entire Starting Defense for the Entire Starting Defense of the Ravens.

Additionally, we should trade Armanti Edwards for Patrick Peterson for Special Teams.

Then we would win the superbowl, the end.

If having a message board to talk about the panthers doesn't generate conversation amongst the members, then there shouldn't be a message board in general. He posted a thead in the right forum to see what everyones opinion on how could we possibly improve the team, and he gets bashed for it. That's ludicrous, there's multiple other posters who start similar threads. Hell even zod started a thread about we should win vs. The titans. Its not new information we haven't heard yet, it was his opinion to generate conversation amongst everyone, but no ones bashing him.

    • I believe I need to address something that a lot of us don't get on this forum.  The past is the past. People come and go. There have been good times, and bad. Everything changes at some point. However, as we embark this offseason, I challenge everyone to say goodbye. What has happened in the past is now the past. Nothing we do changes that. Many here are stuck in this mode that we're in 2016. Some even go as far as saying we're back tracking to 2015. We can relish those memories and scorn the bad, but the fact is this is 2017. We are not the 2015 Panthers, the 2016 Panthers, or the 2011 Panthers. We are entering a new stage in Panthers history. 2017 will be nothing like any team of years past. Coaches and players alike will learn from past mistakes and attempt to fix it. New guys will come in and add new wrinkles to our game. New fans will come in to add their flair. I challenge everyone to not fallback into the past. Don't hold on to things that will never change. Look to the future. Say goodbye.  Fall Forward.
