I was Wrong

I must admit... I thought bringing back Paul Maurice was a lateral Move. I figured we would miss the Playoffs and would be stuck in obscurity the next few years. I own up to it. After litsening to Cole's interveiw on 99.9 the fan, and what he said about maurice, i had this epiphany.

How long is he under contract? Till season end?

Do you think that Maurice will get a long term (3+years) or is he just keeping the seat warm for Ron Francis??

I do not think Maurice gets full credit but at least 60 percent of it. Bringing back Cole and us getting healthy have factored in too.

I think if we go deep in the playoffs... he gets am extension. If we do not. Then it is Francis team.

Probably right on that, if the team does well in the playoff's he'll probably get a new deal for a year or two. Then it will be Francis' team.

He is on one year deals from here on out. its not like any other team is going to hire him and he knows it. the job belongs to Ronnie, Mo is just holding it steady until he hits a bad losing streak.

The canes need to be more worried about locking up Ruutuu and Cole for the next few years. I think that Corvo, Babchuk and Gleason are all restricted free agents this year too.

I'll admit that I didn't want Maurice back either. He's done a good job with this team.

I hated Maurice w/ the Leafs...but he's done a (surprisingly) good job w/ the 'Canes...

After wallowing in obscurity, Maurice has the team playing really well since he came in. He's not afraid to switch lines up to maximize talent. Hell, our "defensive" forwards score a lot.
