NFC West Exec: Matt Kalil isn't the best OT prospect on the board.

If it turns out to be a 49ers scout, would people take it more seriously?

I haven't really seen much of Reiff but I can say that both Kalil and Martin look like they will be VERY good. This is why I wouldn't mind a trade down from the #2 spot. Drop down a handful of spots, pick up an extra 2nd rounder. We might not land the very top OT (if we even go in that direction) but the dropoff should be pretty minimal.

Lol. When losing a battle of wits, undermine their credibility. You people are ridiculous.

"Pfft, I mean who cares if he has a position of power on an NFL team? Doesn't he know Matt Kalil's brother plays for the Carolina Panthers? Doesn't he know that I recognize his name? Pfft. This guy must be stupid. #SaveFace"

Maybe you should actually determine whether or not the people you're criticizing have spent an extended period of time watching X prospect before you make some asinine assumption that the only reason we like said prospect is because their name is familiar or because their sibling plays for the Panthers...just my .02...

And questioning the scout of a division that has three absolutely God awful teams personnel wise isn't that far off base, whether we're fans or not....but of course you know why all of us think Kalil is the real deal and why we all want him here, and you obviously know that X scout hasn't made some questionable scouting decisions before, or that it isn't a complete smoke screen to try and get a prospect they covet...

We're quite aware of your methods. No need to point them out to us.

He needs to put on some muscle but he will be very good. Maybe not Joe Thomas/Jake Long good but who knows.

I still don't think he ends up here whatever the situation. Either he goes to the Rams before us or we trade down or pass on him and take Justin Blackmon. I just don't think Hurney will spend a top-5 pick on an OT with Otah still on the roster even if I personally think he's gone after next year, Hurney will want to give him one more shot to prove he can stay healthy before giving up on a former 1st rounder. Plus the coaching staff obviously likes Byron Bell a lot.

I don't think either are anywhere close to what Matt Kalil will be, but still, I just don't see OT as the huge need some do and I don't feel that Hurney/Rivera do either, TBH.

My preferences in order would be:

1. Justin Blackmon

2. Trade down

3. Matt Kalil

4. Morris Claiborne

Why should I trust any evaluations from a competitor? Their interests and mine are in direct conflict.

Sit down and have a beer.

    • you do realize that $1M pledge he made was after he had received a ton of backlash and outcry from the media for sitting during the national anthem? He did hold his promise and has made some other donations as well, but before he decided to sit at football games, he didn't do jack poo for oppressed communities and the homeless, or any other charities for that matter. He was just a narcissist prima dona who so happened to play for one of the most talented teams in the NFL headed by one of the greatest coaches in the NFL. Him prospering early on in his career made him a cocky SOB who dressed like a thug during press conferences and treated the media like dog poo.  Yes people change, but he changed for the wrong reasons. His career was in turmoil, he was a declining NFL QB trying to stay relevant, so he thought up a rouge to get back in the spotlight by sitting. After he received backlash, he thought to himself "oh crap, I need to back up my words with some action. let me make a few donations to show the world I truly care about what I stand for"  the dude could give a rats ass about any of that poo. He didn't even show up to vote, and I don't think he's ever voted in his life. And I don't care about voting for the president, but at least vote for your local officials and congressman and for your states propositions. If he truly wants to have a voice and use the stage he has to inflict some serious changes in this country, there's a way to go about it, not seek attention for the wrong reasons just to resurrect your career.
    • I love Moton. The only thing that freaks me out about him is that he played for a small school. I do think he could've flourished for a big time program though.
    • It will be nice if he becomes a stud.  Then maybe those that whine about small school players will shut the hell up.
