just want to look at this broken down to help it soak in.
sweet.Carolina has scored 225 points this year. They scored 196 all of last season.
They had 17 total touchdowns last year. They have 25 this year.
They average 400 yards of offense per game compared to 258 last year.
carolina had 95 punts last season, they have only 42 this year.
100% agreed.Rivera is doing a hell of a job rebuilding this offense, I cant wait to next year to see how he rebuilds the defense.
wins would be great, but seeing this kind of improvement after 1 year is phenomenal.
can't wait to see what he can do with that defense next year, esp. w/ beason back.

Would you like to share the record amount of penalties and defensive statistics showing how historically bad our defense is now?

i've said it many times. once cam and this team start winning, it's going to be a long time before they stop winning.
it seems like the panthers have been caught up in an avalanche for a few years and it just keeps getting worse, but next year and going forward we will be the avalanche destroying everything in our path.

losses suck, but if you're going to lose i'd rather it be the way we're doing it this year than last year because at least we know we had a chance and we know we have something to look forward to because this team is going to get better.

I would agree with you on this Rayzor, but it's actually the same thing as last year for me... Last year, if the other team scored we knew the game was over because our offense couldn't. This year, if our offense doesn't score 50 then we know we're gonna lose because the defense can't hold off the opposing offense, lol. It's fun to see Cam coming along and Smitty back to life, but it's just as frustrating knowing it's not going to be a win regardless of their efforts.

it does seem like things have flip flopped since last year, but we are in a lot better shape than last year in that we know the direction we are going and who is going to be leading this team.I would agree with you on this Rayzor, but it's actually the same thing as last year for me... this year is the starting point for ron rivera's team. everywhere rivera has gone, his defenses has gotten better. this defense will also.
i have little reason to believe that this defense won't be able to get back to a level of respectability next year and i base that on several things.
1) the primary focus in the offseason was on repairing an offense that was last in the league last year and one of the worst of all times. the attention that was given to make the offense respectable again and maybe more respectable than it's ever been can be shifted to the defense.
2) rivera's forte is defense and he knows how to make one successful.
3) beason will be back. regardless of how good we should be without him in there, we aren't. his talent is needed for sure, but not as much as his leadership.
4) we'll have a full offseason ahead of us and that will
- help in getting people healthy
- allow us the opportunity to bring in talent
- give our youngest guys a chance to put some mass on their frames and get in better shape for the pros
- help all of our guys get more comfortable with the scheme and knowing their responsibilities
no reason to believe it until we see it. it takes a good bit of faith to feel good about next year but, imo, we have seen enough this year to have it.

Some fans see lemonds and turn sour
Other fans make lemonade
Time is on Rivera's side
All the positives on offense is a huge improvement
over the run offense that had Steve Smith mad enough to want to leave
Panthers are losing with an exciting offense that can score and try to win
without help from the defense
Last 2 seasons they lost with a run offense that did alot of 3 and outs ,trying to not lose the game
With a defense that showed up to play
Rivera is not going anywhere
J R sees the improvements and will give him 3 years
