Is Dwill back to form?

He was running hard, and hitting the hole with great acceleration. Hope he continues this so we don't have to bitch about his mega contract

Facing the Lions run defense was a plus, I still think Chud is a fuging idiot for not running him more and preserving clock with the lead.

He should have another good week vs. the Colts. But I was encouraged by how hard he was running.

I don't think Deangelo was ever really out of form. It's just that our offense sucks at blocking and fans do sh1t job of evaluating players.

i think its just that the oppurtunities given to him were better. like the runs to the outside, and catches out of the backfield. when we've let him run outside its usually turned out well. But No matter what he does on the field those that will bitch about the contract will bitch about the contract, dont think theres much that can be done about that.

They finally called the right plays for him. He can hit holes up the middle, but he's at his best when he gets outside. They need to save the inside running game for Stew.

But Stewart has been running hard, yet our blocking sucks? I believe it's more Dwill than the blocking

He looks like he's running well but he's never going to be able to live up to that contract getting 9 carries a game. Not really his fault though.

I don't believe that Deangelo is any physically different to where he was a year and a half ago. He hasn't seen the field enough and I don't believe he would deteriorate that fast.

Granted he hasn't been awesome, we also haven't really made Deangelo a focus in the offense. Stewart can make plays regardless because he can bowl people over.

However I think next season we will see the emergence of Stewart as the starter. He will just be too fast and too strong not to be the featured guy. Deangelo might still be as good as he ever was but if you consider the politics of the game(his age, contract, Stewarts age, draft status) it's time for him to be the guy.

DWill is fine. He's not the same back as Stew in terms of style and treating him like he is by running him straight up the middle without a lead blocker is a terrible idea. He has had a respectable YPC all year and he was running hard, just the holes weren't there.

I thought DWill made some good blocks in the passing game this week, which will greatly increase his value to this offense, because he is an awesome runner in space... and it may be that we need to use the passing game to get him the ball in space because of how our offense works.

Overall I think he's the same back he's always been - we're just running a totally different offense and Chud is still finding out how best to utilize him.

    • And to think this guy made it through 7 rounds and not one team wanted him.  Thank God Gettleman was on his "A" game and signed him here. Amazing how talent can bypass so many scouts, coaches and GMs. If they did a redraft.   What round would he go to?  Round 1?  He's a solid of a Guard as any in this league.
    • you do realize that $1M pledge he made was after he had received a ton of backlash and outcry from the media for sitting during the national anthem? He did hold his promise and has made some other donations as well, but before he decided to sit at football games, he didn't do jack poo for oppressed communities and the homeless, or any other charities for that matter. He was just a narcissist prima dona who so happened to play for one of the most talented teams in the NFL headed by one of the greatest coaches in the NFL. Him prospering early on in his career made him a cocky SOB who dressed like a thug during press conferences and treated the media like dog poo.  Yes people change, but he changed for the wrong reasons. His career was in turmoil, he was a declining NFL QB trying to stay relevant, so he thought up a rouge to get back in the spotlight by sitting. After he received backlash, he thought to himself "oh crap, I need to back up my words with some action. let me make a few donations to show the world I truly care about what I stand for"  the dude could give a rats ass about any of that poo. He didn't even show up to vote, and I don't think he's ever voted in his life. And I don't care about voting for the president, but at least vote for your local officials and congressman and for your states propositions. If he truly wants to have a voice and use the stage he has to inflict some serious changes in this country, there's a way to go about it, not seek attention for the wrong reasons just to resurrect your career.
    • I love Moton. The only thing that freaks me out about him is that he played for a small school. I do think he could've flourished for a big time program though.
