Yahoo actually made this pretty easy. Here's the career YAC averages of some of the better receivers currently in the league. Wayne ranks higher than two of them. And yes, I was that bored.

Reggie Wayne - 3.9 - http://sports.yahoo....ers/5477/career

Wes Welker - 5.8 - http://sports.yahoo....ers/7027/career
Larry Fitzgerald - 3.5 - http://sports.yahoo....ers/6762/career
Brandon Marshall - 4.5 - http://sports.yahoo....ers/7868/career
Donald Driver - 4.5 - http://sports.yahoo....ers/4863/career
Marques Colston - 4.5 - http://sports.yahoo....ers/8001/career
Calvin Johnson - 5.2 - http://sports.yahoo....ers/8256/career
Deion Branch - 4.2 - http://sports.yahoo....ers/5951/career
Roddy White - 4.0 - http://sports.yahoo....ers/7203/career
DeSean Jackson - 5.7 - http://sports.yahoo....ers/8826/career
Vincent Jackson - 3.4 - http://sports.yahoo....ers/7237/career
Pierre Garcon - 5.4 - http://sports.yahoo....ers/8982/career (that's right, he's a distant 2nd to a guy on his own team)
Dwayne Bowe - 4.7 - http://sports.yahoo....ers/8277/career
Terrell Owens - 5.3 - http://sports.yahoo....ers/3664/career
Hakeem Nicks - 5.4 - http://sports.yahoo....ers/9293/career
Andre Johnson - 4.8 - http://sports.yahoo....ers/6339/career

Of course 89's got them all beat with a 6.1 yard average.

Doesn't matter he will be our starter this year and next.

He has put up good # all year while playing behind a suckass front 7.

I'll excuse his mistakes this year because he and CG have had to cover up for the front 7 mistakes all season.

It does matter because he is a starter and you would expect better. open field tackling has nothing to do with the front 7, its amazing how we make excuses for guys thats been on a NFL roster for years but dog a rookie for a mistake.

Dude you are arguing an efficiency stat with people who don't understand it's more important that "total" stats. I have already tried that argument here. The rest that might don't accept it because that stat also reveals Steve makes Cam look good, not the other way around. Steve's one of the most explosive receivers of all time in the history of the NFL. He's only one of 7 guys that got a Triple Crown, especially playing with a guy like Jake Delhomme in a run-first offense and can make even a rookie QB look like a vet.

So why didn't Claussen look like a vet?

I dont know what games you guys have been watching. Sherrod Martin has been very below average this year. His angles are always off. He is not a good tackler. He's late in coverage. Ya im trolling on him...but the guy just hasnt done very much this year. I'll throw him in my Role Player category:

Role Players who should play special teams and occasionally get PT. Should not be starting IMO:
Captain Munnerlyn
Sherrod Martin

Safety Position is something that is on the back burner for now. We need to upgrade the lines this offseason.
