You must be a Troy alum.

He recognized that Donald Brown was free. He knew he was running full speed. Why he thought he'd catch him with the angle he took, only he knows. Plain and simple, bad judgement.

He also had pass coverage duty and they were either in the red zone or just a few yards from it. How would you have stop a RB running full speed untouched with 2-3 yards from the endzone. Coming from the other side of the field.

By taking a better angle.

Martin was at the 12 yard line when Brown was around the 8. If he had chosen a better angle he would have saved the TD. They might would have scored anyways but that's not the point.

When doesn't a safety a pass coverage duties? That's not the issue here because he obviously recognized it.

Erm, seriously?

You realise Wayne had Peyton Manning throwing the ball to him, right? His strength is running crisp routes and having sure hands whilst being reasonably quick. He only gets YAC if he's beaten his man and there's daylight to run into. He's not going to run around or through anyone.

Being a reliable target in a Peyton Manning offence will let you rack up a poo ton of yards.

So you wouldn't take reggie wayne right now??

The dam issues is The front 7 inability to stop the run and Fans expect safeties to save the day all the time.

Excuse me, I meant to say Martin was on the 8 and Brown on the 12. But because of the angle he took he wasn't able to get to him until later. A better angle would have saved some yardage.

Not denying the fact that front 7 isn't our strongest but it's still his duty to help in run defense.

If you can't play out in space than safety is the wrong spot for you our any football player besides line men.

No you act like Reggie wayne can't make a move or is slow for some reason.

You posted this 1st you're giving a lot of credit to Manning and none to Wayne. Then I showed you a highlight flim that showed Wayne catching inaccurate throws and making people miss in the open field.

Now he can't play in space. OK again 50 tackles for a safety in 11 games is pretty good. Plus the fact he playing with the worst front 7 in football. He will be on the team and you will have to deal with it.

Never said he shouldn't be. He is decent in pass coverage but expecting him to come up and make a stop is becoming comical.its ok to recognize a players weakness because 31 other teams will.

No expecting him to come up and make stops on the run 15-20 times a game is comical which is what him and CG have been ask to do all season. It's ok to recognize a weakness. We should just be realistic when critcizing. He and CG shouldn't have to stop the run 15-20 times a game.

Plain and simple your safeties shouldn't have as many tackles as your MLB. But they do this is the problem.

That video just proved everything I said: he's reasonably quick with sure hands and he runs crisp routes.

You watched the video, right? Did he ever make a man miss in the open field? If he did I certainly missed it. In comparison put on a Smith or Boldin highlights tape. That's half of the plays.
