I am stoked. They said they wanted to take some time and savor the taste of having just won the 2009 NCAA men's basketball tournament. It has not even been 24 hours and the confetti still lines Franklin Street but the duo has just confirmed their intentions to Pat Forde, senior sports announcer for ESPN.
"Me and Wayne talked about it and you know there hasn't ever been back to back champions at Carolina. That's something we're very confident that we could help bring about with the recruits we have coming in. Plus we've had some talks with coach and he thinks we could both be lottery picks next year, so we felt like this would help us out in the future. The NBA will always be there."
Stay tuned for a live press conference scheduled for 9 AM tomorrow morning on ESPN and ESPN News.

I didn't either, but neither Ty nor Wayne are lottery picks right now...at least not on everyone's charts. Ty is on a couple but Wayne is seen as a late first round, early second rounder.Amazing, with the recruiting class we have coming in and Ed staying, this could be back to back with them staying. wow! I just didn't think they would...

UNC will certainly be in contention but Davis, Thompson, and Zeller are going to have to step up. Also, I wonder how this affects Roy trying to get Wall on board? He may not have the 'ships if they both stay, unless someone else leaves.National Championship baby, you know it!...
