How much of a loser do you have to be to have a hatred for Appalachian State? Michigan fans? Seriously, wtf?

I have read a lot of hateful things posted on here about App State and Boone since I joined this board. And truly some of Apps fans brought it on themselves by posting dumb statements on local and national boards, especially after the Michigan win, but there are fans like that for every sports team out there. And I have a thick skin so most of it doesn't bother me a bit. But that comment crossed a very big line. There are forum rules against making threats and I believe advocating murder might be considered a threat.

You know, you can say a lot of things in today's world of opinion and free speech

I'm so glad the added that into the Constitution last year.

First things first, Armanti is under 5-11, I'd say hes about 5-10-1/2. I've stood next to him before and I'm smack dab at 6ft.

Second, this might as well be his rookie year because Fox hated "the powers that be" going over him and basically ignoring him when they drafted Armanti. This put Armanti on the bench all year. It wasn't anything against him it was a battle between Fox and the boys. Basically Armanti got a year long rookie camp and this is his rookie season. I've also heard that they drafted him because they didn't want the Patriot empire to draft him.

Third, they aren't paying him much at all so they might as well let him ride out his contract because for the price they are paying him you aren't going to have Hester returning punts for you.

In time he will become a regular rotation receiver. He would already be getting field time this year except Rivera wanted to go with a more TE/RB based offense, taking advantage of the passing lanes that opened up for the top 3 receivers. This doesn't leave much room for a guy who is a new WR.

As for his arm. He is way better at passing then Clausen. He is shorter but he has great field vision. Carolina's O-line is no taller than the O-line that was at App with the exception of Otah at 6-6, who is injured.

With that said his punt returning has been bad. He catches the ball and doesn't muff which is fantastic. Its a good starting place. The problem is that hes still trying to run like hes just been snapped the ball out of the backfield which isn't how you get yards punt returning. With this I mean he gets happy feet trying to make a decision on where to run to. He gets zero blocking on returns but that doesn't mean he should be averaging 8 yards a return. I would say about half the time in the NFL you can average 8 yards by simply catching and running straight forward immediately. Most of the time he has to fair catch though because there are 5 guys in his face that no one bothered to block. That doesn't make up for the other times though when he gets happy feet and doesn't make up his mind and ends up running 10 yards....sidways.

You guys need to stop being so hard on the guy though. Its like he is your goat for the year. He will make it eventually.

For anyone who doesn't like small colleges. 1/3 of the players who ae on current NFL rosters are from FCS schools. Thats right not even small time FBS/BCS, they are from FCS schools. So anyone hating on those schools is a complete fool who knows absolutely nothing about the NFL or probably life for that matter.

Terrel Owens and Jerry Rice. The top two WR's statistically that there has ever been. Both of them came from small time schools. Favre, one of the top statistical QB's went to southern miss, a little C-USA school. The list goes on and on about people from smaller schools who became stars.

Aaron Rodgers sat behind Favre for a couple years before even getting a shot and look at what he has done. Give the kid a break guys. Get out of your armchairs and go ask Ray Lewis to hit you a few times and we will see what you think about NFL players then. As other have said this isn't Madden so get over yourselves. The staff knows more about the game then you chumps so we will all just have to wait and see what happens after the season. Quite frankly I hope they keep him just to anger some of you guys.

I would like to see Armanti as well, but I'll bet they go with Tutu.

So how fast do you expect an undersized college QB to turn into a WR/PR in the NFL? This is year two and Ive seen worse. You know what coaches dont like, turnovers, thats why Goodson has been on the bench. There are Vets who have muffed more punts this year. They could have replaced Edwards at any point this year. They didnt. Seems the actual people that matter dont think he's that mediocre

I don't expect him to.. clearly that answers your question..

and to address you're last point, Mare hasn't been replaced either. kthxbye

From the presser it sounds like all four (Armanti, Tutu, Pilares and Adams) will split time and it's still up in the air as to how much.
