He threw him under the bus because some people have pointed to Tebow's faith as the reason for his success & people who call themselves Christian & think God gives a fug about a football game deserve to be made fun of.

Lol @ this comment being "too far".
I'll remember that the next time a Don Imus says something like nappy headed hos.
That's racist.

Would it help if I pointed out that these aren't even close to being the same things?

He's a comedian, his job is to point out the ridiculous. Tebow gives credit to Jesus when he is good so to stay consistent you have to give credit to Jesus when he blows.

Why wait? Instead of coming to a message board complaining about this, do what the people who were pissed about Imus did. Go after his sponsors, employer, etc... try to get him fired. Teach him a lesson. I mean if he so obviously crossed the line as you say then there should be plenty of people who agree & you can bring some serious pressure against him right?
I agree with him on some things, too. But why throw Tebow under the bus? We all know you hate religion, Bill. Go after the phonies who act one way Monday through Saturday and another for two hours on Sunday.
I don't see it as him throwing Tebow under the bus. It's a joke about a popular subject. It's not even really a personal attack on Tebow, imo. It's more of him making fun of recent commentary about Tebow winning games thanks to God.

I see it more as him commenting on a subject as opposed to him insulting Tebow.

He also had this tweet about Tebow:
Got to admit Tebow better player than I gave credit for- of course if u think this has anything to do with a 1st c. Palestinian u r an idiot
He has many funny offensive jokes, more so than his Tebow ones. Just read this gem about Kim Kardashian:
“Kim Kardashian is upset with Casey Anthony verdict? Ur father defended O.J.! Starting the Kardashian tradition of getting black men off.”
Now that's Maher getting personal.

Maher was never all that funny, even before he went political.

Stuff like this serves to get him attention, something he likely couldn't get much of based solely on the quality of his material.

Damn.

Tim Tebow is a grown man, capable of making his own decisions and expressing himself as he sees fit. He's also chosen to live out his life in the spotlight. That makes him fair game.

And Tim Tebow is known for three things: Playing football, being very vocal about his religious view, and combining the two.

Now tell me why he can't be ridiculed for these things? How can making a simple commentary about a man, not to mention a celebrity's behavior be considered 'over the line?'

The truth is that it isn't over the line. You just don't like it.

And don't give me any nonsense about religion being off-limits and that attacking someone's religion is similar to racism. It isn't. Religion is a decision. Race isn't.

Saying that Jesus f**ked Tim Tebow is over the line. You don't have to like someone's religion. In fact, most devout Christians annoy the heck out of me. But you should respect it more than Maher does.
