No one knows if Brees could decline the next two years, he's getting older and turning the ball over a lot.

Drew Brees- 32 Years old

Cam Newton 22 Years old

Considering this year's performance, age alone dictates you choose Cam...no contest.

That is the big issue really. Lok at Peyton Manning, as he got older he started getting injured and had to have 3 neck surgeries and might not play again. At this point the reality is that Brees likely has 3 or 4 more years left before he starts to decline. Newton if he only plays to 32 years still has 10 years left to play. So who do you build around? THe guy who is likely to be here in 10 years.

I think you have to go Brees. He's only 32 so he should have at least 5 more years in him at a very high level. He's one of the most accurate passers the game has seen. Who knows if Cam will ever get to that level.

For a QB at 32 years old, durability issues grow and accuracy and ability decline over time. It's the beginning of a crossroads for a professional player. Some are able to maintain some effectiveness, but most age out and lose the competitive edge.

Will Brees have 5 years in him at a very high level? That's far from certain.

No one knows if Cam could decline the next two years, it happened to Freeman, who many pre draft compared Cam to.

At their current levels, Cam is nowhere close to Breesus.

Cam... Unless I'm trying to fit the last few pieces to win a Ring in the next few years, then I'd take Brees.

Brees is a damn good qb.

Cam is taller, stronger arm, a bigger threat.

I'm sure any saints fan would call me biased, but i'll take the bigger qb that has proven he can also play at a high level.

Wish cam had bree's pocket awareness/presense.

Fact: All interceptions are a result of inaccurate throws.

Incorrect, busted routes account for many interceptions as well as exemplary defensive skills and/or telegraphed throws.

If you had to choose a QB right now to build a team around, would you choose Drew Brees or Cam Newton provided they are the only two candidates available.

Ha...hands down Drew Brees...not even close

in building a team for the future i'm going to go with the guy that's got the most future in the league, esp. when you have that dynamic skill set and ability to perform that newton has.

to me, the way the league is shaping up defenses are going to require your QB to be incredibly mobile in the next few years. you don't go with a guy that is on the wrong side of 30 in that situation.

brees is good right now and one of the best in the league, but he won't be that way for long. cam is the future.

What, create a confusing post that isn't easily understood?

True

Fact: throwing a lot of interceptions isn't a good thing.....

See what I did there?
