Funny Bengals forum thread on Dalton and Cam

110 posts in this topic

also love how Dalton's been like the new poster boy for the "fancy player vs. winning player" false dichotomy you usually find when people are trying to mask the fact that they just like the white bread QB instead of the black guy

lol exactly this.

well you saints fans can take your pretty boy brees and his stats but we'll take a proven winner in jake. losers.

a qb can only be either a good runner or a good passer. not both. if he's a good runner that automatically means he must suck at passing. sorry but i like my traditional pocket passers with their lombardi trophies over those fancy schmancy athletic QBs that don't win

/forgets aaron rodgers rushed for over 350 yards at 5.6 per carry last year

Dalton has been good and deserves recognition for helping turn around a team that was quickly sinking, but what Cam has done is unprescidented, he has been transcendent. He, already, has shown what a new breed of QB can bring to the NFL.

Dalton will be a good QB for years, Cam will rewrite history.

somebody on ESPN said it again this morning, "If it weren't for The Golden Calf of Bristol and Cam, Dalton would be getting all the OROY talk"...idiots

and nobody has even entertained the notion that for the first time in this franchise's history, the Panthers are ahead of the 8-ball when it comes to the QB position. Mainly about 10 years ago 4,000 yard passers had the reputation of being stat-padders (like Newton) that couldn't win and now it's like every year a 4,000 yard passer is winning the superbowl. Now we've got a QB that will be one of the 10 guys with 4,000 passing yards and has no immediate neighbors in the rushing performance. So you've pretty much got a guy who's not even in his prime and could potentially be as good a passer as Manning and as good a runner as Vick.

Aaron Rodgers is like Steve Young 2.0 and Cam Newton is in a class all by himself as a rookie. Either Newton will end up being a one-of-a-kind QB or he'll be the first of a new generation of QBs that can both run and pass as the game continues to evolve.

The fact that you guys were able to read most of what was posted is remarkable. Pantherclaw must have been translating, no?

To be fair... All of those stupid clowns are new posters on that board while all the "older" posters seems to see the light.

We have a lot of those "new stupid posters" on this board also.

Dalton is a decent qb. Here is the difference. Half the guys on their board are willing to say Cam is the better player. Anyone here want to make that claim about Dalton? Ill wait, but this topic is not even debatable.
