Thinkl the pirates go the message. First time in 200 years that a American flagged ship was taken will be another 200 before they try again.

Just use this little thing called GPS. Once danger is detected, call in a F-15 or a drone.

Heck, we could partner up with EA Sports or Rockstar video games and just have Seth, Connor and Preston in The Valley do the dirty work from their condo.

Only problem is that GPS is for poistioning. For detection you need radar.

Maybe what we need is to go old tech/new tech on them. Position several fast PT boats equiped with Predator UAV's around the area linked to an AWACs over head. Then when they try get near a ship, any ship, put a Hell Fire missle in their a**.

They were taken out by snipers. Apparently the seal snipers on the USS Bainbridge saw one of the Pirates with a gun pointed at the Captain's back, and took them out. I don't know how far the Bainbridge was from the Hijacked vessel, but thats fine shooting right there.

The on-scene commander gave the shooters approval to open fire after seeing that "one of the pirates had an AK-47 leveled at the captain's back," Gortney said.

Seas in the area were getting rough at the time of the rescue, Gortney said, and the Bainbridge was towing the lifeboat presumably to calmer waters with a towline about 82 feet long.

A senior defense official told CNN that each pirate was shot in the head.

especially when you'd think some thermal imaging and 4 or 5 mercenaries could repel pretty much any attack day or night.

:smilielol5:

seriously, he said very little about it but authorized those in the know to use whatever force necessary if the situation called for it. I don't think you can ask for more than that from a president.

I think what Obama did is similar to a rookie manager in baseball with a stud closer.

Got a lead? Bring in the closer.

He really had a no brainer on this but not overblowing it was wise.
