Had to have caught the pirates offguard. Who would expect seals?

They were taken out by snipers. Apparently the seal snipers on the USS Bainbridge saw one of the Pirates with a gun pointed at the Captain's back, and took them out. I don't know how far the Bainbridge was from the Hijacked vessel, but thats fine shooting right there.

if Mccain were President that man would be dead, the ship would be under water, and the pirates would be back home safely before he was finished changing his depends.

good job handling the crisis, President Obama, and thank you for keeping us safe.

Should have taken them out in the first day.
Now let that ship stay our there awhile and flatten any others we happen to see.

When the Capt. escaped the first time was the time we sent a guided missle into the life boat! (Maybe he didn't get far enough away?)

Obama needs to man up and park a frigate there for a few months or more. Show the colors and assure safe passage for ships.

Can we publicly hang the fourth one?

Hanging him from the Yard Arms would do quite nicely! (He might live through a keel haulin'.)

And do it live on TV! :lurk5:

The pirates finally screwed up and took an American ship. There is a hell of a lot of ocean in the area to protect. Maybe best these ships arm and protect themselves.

Thinkl the pirates go the message. First time in 200 years that a American flagged ship was taken will be another 200 before they try again.

Just use this little thing called GPS. Once danger is detected, call in a F-15 or a drone.
Heck, we could partner up with EA Sports or Rockstar video games and just have Seth, Connor and Preston in The Valley do the dirty work from their condo.

Only problem is that GPS is for poistioning. For detection you need radar.

Maybe what we need is to go old tech/new tech on them. Position several fast PT boats equiped with Predator UAV's around the area linked to an AWACs over head. Then when they try get near a ship, any ship, put a Hell Fire missle in their a**.

The on-scene commander gave the shooters approval to open fire after seeing that "one of the pirates had an AK-47 leveled at the captain's back," Gortney said.

Seas in the area were getting rough at the time of the rescue, Gortney said, and the Bainbridge was towing the lifeboat presumably to calmer waters with a towline about 82 feet long.

A senior defense official told CNN that each pirate was shot in the head.
