He has one year of eligability for any other division 1 sport. This is a common rule, just hardly ever used. He would not play at Duke given Duke has a top 3 QB in the ACC already, not to mention Thad is a Senior with 3 years of experience already.

Paulus actually played in a system similar to Michigan's in high school...I have heard there are at least 6 other NFL teams asking him to try out and several other colleges interested in him for a year.

Pretty neat story IMO.

Honestly it really is. It be great if he made it in the NFL. I had never heard of that rule before.

Press conference at 10AM to either answer questions about his future or announce what he will do. We should know more soon.

Nope, If he is a senior and graduated from Duke and still has a year of eligibilty then he doesnt have to sit out. Had a safety at WVU transfer from Michigan and didnt have to sit out.

Ok after a little research here is the rule Mundy used.

Following his redshirt-junior season of 2006 at Michigan, Mundy decided to use an NCAA rule to transfer to West Virginia University. The rule allowed seniors to transfer to another school and participate in athletics without having the sit out a season due to their previous school not having a certain field they want to study in. Mundy enrolled at West Virginia and began his work on a master's degree in sports administration.
