that's fun to think about It's pretty crazy that they really don't know exactly how the moon got here.

I guess that means that Jupiter and Saturn are the hot hangouts in this system.

Ok, lets start with the first three.

I can't find a source for the Asimov quote. All I can find is sites saying that he said it. I mean maybe he did, but without context, it's not very useful.

The moon does have a magnetic field, its much weaker that earth's but its still measurable. So the second one is out.

And like Asimov's quote, I can't find where Sky & Telescope said it was 5.3 billion y/o. Also, Sky & Telescope isn't Harvard's astronomy journal. Its an amateur astronomers magazine. Maybe one if the 73 conferences was held at Harvard?

Great! Besides the Borg and Wraith now, we have to worry that the Empire is real?

Think about this!

Back in HS, we used to ask our physics teacher really dumb questions in class bc the questions would turn into an actual discussion which meant less teaching.

One time we asked if the moon was really just the death star covered in sand...guess that wasn't as dumb of a question as we had though lol.

sports talk might be on to something, I've never seen Batman and Darth Vader in the same place at the same time...

Seriously, the article is really entertaining and is good food for thought, even if some of the facts are not accurate. I don't believe that Human life is some random occurrence of evolving single-celled life forms, nor do I believe that the solar system is just a celestial rock collection. I believe that I will never know where we come from, how we got here and who or what situation made us... I just accept that and live day-to-day. But I do like to stop and wonder at times.

This guy needs to make a movie.

I know the official explanation. but someone probably already posted it, and I'm not reading any further into this thread.

Will glady put it forth if someone wants me to.

I'm getting ready for the 2012 believers to come out and make some kind of claim that this year the alien race that created us will fly their moon space station out of orbit, cause gravitational changes.

I always picture two Mayan guys having a conversation while they work...

"Okay, so we're up to December 21st, 2012. Ya wanna stop?"

"Yeah, that's probably enough for now."

"Okay...Wait, you don't think anybody'll freak out about this, do ya?"

"Nah. It'll be fine." :sosp:
