Tempting trade bait for the Bobcats?
Boris on the block is very public, however I doubt the Celtics would be interested in him. Ainge (the Celtics GM) was quoted as saying he wanted "younger talent".
So in short. Would trading away Tyrus Thomas, DJ Augustin, DJ White, or any other young talent of worth for an expiring contract of Ray Allen or Kevin Garnett (I exclude Paul Pierce because he still has 2 years on his contract) be beneficial to the rebuilding effort.
Thoughts?

That would take us out of the lottery
I don't think Ray Allen or KG single handedly would take us out of the lottery...or even the top 3 for that matter.

No. I don't want any more .400 or .500 seasons. Either be in contention or you need to suck really bad to get good in the NBA.

If Charlotte was a decent market I would say go for it but expiring contracts don't help a team that has zero chance of attracting any big name FA. We're better off keeping what young talent we have and trying to develop through the draft than by going the way of attracting FAs.
Cho knows this, he built Portland through the draft and then acquired pieces via trade later.
