I plan on transferring to the college of charleston in the fall to major in communications. Anyone with any insight on the schools reputation? Or any input on the school at all?

Top notch school if your a single guy then this is the school for you 3 girls to every guy...The basketball team is always competitive and fun to watch. Academics one of the best. Brett Favres daughter went to COC and Miley Cyrus was supposed to enroll last semester. The night life is sweet.

Don't major in communications unless you simply want to more effectively communicate to people why you are unemployed.

fug yes! Ive heard about the girl to guy ratio and it put the biggest smile on my face lol. I was accepted today but i'm pulling between college of charleston and the university of south carolina.

College of charleston was more of my choice, to be honest. The university of south carolina has just been in my ear alot. Alot of friends keep trying to persuade me to transfer there.

People who major in Communications tend to barely complete sentences without "like" in them. Don't be that dude, especially at one of my alma maters.

I visited the college a few years back and the campus was nice. Seems like a pretty chill school by day, but it's probably wild at night.

Just judging by what goes down at the Dub, assuming they're fairly similar schools (girls to guy ratio, beach school, etc)

Oh, and since money talks, you SHOULD get your masters in communications.

But in all seriousness, I'd take like a f*cking theatre or film studies major over communications.

Delhommey, Hotsauce, and I all graduated there over the course of the last 15 or so years...Hotsauce being the most recent. We all loved it, have differing careers, and are all doing pretty well for ourselves.

I'll look into it. I have plenty of time to really decide my major, the communications idea came from an english teacher i'm fond of.

I graduated from CofC with a degree in Communications (that's right fugers). I have been able to find jobs very easily with it. You take half the classes that a business major takes, so I thought of that major being well rounded. I was able to take alot of real world classes.

USC is an ok school. The only nod USC gets over cofc is they have football. However, Columbia really sucks, the campus is pretty shitty as well. Cofc has a really good basketball program, and if you want to see football, columbia is only 1.5 hrs away. Charleston is a awesome town, with so much to do, like the beach, etc.... Did I mention cofc has the best women in any college on the east coast(if you are into that sort if thing)?

Best of luck on your choice. I will say it has gotten really hard to get into the cofc now so consider yourself lucky....
