from a macro perspective, NC and SC actually do a very good job of complimenting one another. they both play to their strengths.
SC knows is more of a destination for vacations and such so they market that. NC knows it has the colleges and business climate so they go with that.
for people like us that live on the border, we get the best of both worlds.

SC does have much cheaper gas taxes... and you can tell it in the quality of the roads.

Raised in Wilmington and now live in SC. I love them both. I just love the damn south, period.

Well, now they're collecting gasoline taxes from 60% of North Carolinians. Could change soon.
