David Gettis? He was better than Lafell his rookie season and we get him back this year. He could be a solid player for years to come.

Just.. figured.. the forum could.. use a happy.. thread.. since well.. you know.. all the others suck.

He's gonna have to work really hard just to be come #3 on the depth chart, Ron doesn't just give anything to anyone. You have to earn it.

It will be nice to have him in the mix but he and Lafell were very close in production in a situation where defenses really didn't have to be concerned about the pass at all. In a more complex and featured passing game we will see how he stacks up.

Let's hope he can bounce back from that injury. It'll be him and LaFell battling for the #2 spot in training camp and LaFell already has the upper hand having played in the system.

I like Gettis and hope he becomes a baller at WR, but his biggest game as a rookie where he accumulated half of his stats came against SF (which had probably the worst secondary in the league two years ago), and had Matt Moore throwing to him, not Jimmy Clausen. So you can't really use the "he was awesome even with Jimmy throwing him the ball" argument, because he was wildly mediocre the rest of the games.
