I've got several handgun permits that I have never used, and those only took like a week to get... But, I've heard that the CCW permit can take forever sometimes... Just curious if anyone has any experience with it.

I'm taking it in Johnston County. They set them up at a local farm/firing range from time to time, and I happened to find out about it through someone who knows the instructor...
I think it should be a pretty quick return, compared to most areas, from what I've heard...

We both passed with ease...

So whats the range qualification like? Is it still 3,5,7 yards?

lol yep... 40 shots, and you basically have to at least hit the paper 28 times... Your shots are at least (somewhat) timed, though... ie. he tells you to fire X times in X seconds...
I was proud of my wife, though... All her shots were in a pretty small grouping considering that she'd only first fired a handgun a couple weekends ago, and not once since...

you have to remember, most people that carry guns are f*cking morons.
Are we talking about people who are carrying legally? or everyone in general.
IMO, unless you are ready to actually use a gun, you have no business carrying one.

Last I heard Wake County is 2 days!
Haven't brought myself to scrap an entire weekend yet...
