One AFC executive told Yahoo Sports that he's convinced the Chargers will place the franchise tag on free agent Vincent Jackson.
Despite the $13.7 million franchise number for Jackson, there is a belief around the NFL that the Chargers are unwilling to set him free. "I know there are seven or eight teams lined up for Jackson, but I think [GM A.J. Smith] is going to tag him," said the AFC exec. "That would be a total A.J. move, plus I think he’s going to have a hard time with the fan base if they let [Jackson] go."

Not interested in Ward.

Maybe he'll retire and become a ballroom teacher.

3 or 4 years ago i'd say grab him. Now could he be the assistant to the the assistant WR coach? I've always like Hines alot. Surprised he isn't retireing.

I would not ever, ever root for Hines Ward in my life. I just can't fathom it.

Thanks but no thanks to Ward.

A few guys I do think we should look into though are John Carlson, Trevor Laws, and Reggie Smith.

Im sure Carolina would be his top choice out of those 3 teams..not sure how i feel about this. Depends what we are offering to pay him. Cinci would mean he has to play Pitt twice a year which he probably doesnt want to do, and Cleveland just sucks.

Also could be an insurance signing if Legadu ends up leaving for a better offer. Realistically Lafell is the #2 and Gettis will have every opportunity to be the Slot guy, but a veteran receiver like Hinez wouldn't be bad insurance.

I'd actually love this... if nothing else, he'd be a nice veteran guy for LaFell and Gettis to look up to. I think he could still contribute on the field, though.

Jason Campbell will be a FA. Would he be a good backup for Cam?
