One thing that Marshall Faulk said on NFLN yesterday that I hadn't ever really thought about and it actually shed a lot of light on Eli's situation when he was drafted...
Marshall said you can go ahead and rule out any and all NFC teams because Peyton doesn't want to do anything to deprive Eli of the opportunity to get to the Superbowl. He said they look at it like the Harbaughs... They don't want to do anything to impede the other from getting there... Now, once they get there, it's a great time for the family because someone is going to win it, and they're happy with that.
He said this was the main reason Eli refused to go to San Diego and asked them not to pick him. Not because he thought NY was any better of a football organizaiton or city, but because Archie didn't want them having to compete against each other in the same conference and possibly stop one another from reaching the Super Bowl.
Personally, I think that Peyton's superbowl days are over with unless he goes to a team with a great supporting cast like SF or Houston.
Pretty cool he doesnt want to knock his brother out of the playoffs though. Personally, I think his little brother would knock him out of the playoffs instead.
