I've been seeing them taking Ingram in a couple mocks

I have too. I just am preparing myself for not having a shot at him.

I still think DE is a big need now.

Unless they trade out--I think there will be some trades in the top 10. OR if Blackmon falls to them--I see them going with the best WR over Coples.

Who might trade with Jax? A team wanting Tannehill could jump Miami. Waiting for free agency to clear the waters

That was my thinking in this draft. It's my hope that Coples falls to us, but I wouldn't put money on it.

if the FO and coaching staff are 100% convinced that cople's motivational problems aren't an issue and gilmore falls out of the first round (which i don't see happening) then i love this mock.

still feel like we'd need to bring in another DT like red bryant or garay but overall i'd be feel really good about it.

Thing about Coples is that he would definitely jolt our pass rush. 3rd down especially.
Johnson, Edwards, Hardy, Coples on 3rd down could be hell-acious.

Edwards will not be in on 3rd downs.

agreed.

if we did draft coples and didn't add a guy like bryant or garay i could see us using some combo of CJ, coples, and hardy on a 3 man front.

well McClain strong point supposed to be disrupting the pocket, getting a push, or pushing the QB of his spots. on passing situations i can see Coples and McClain on the inside and Johnson and Hardy coming off the end.

And let's keep in mind, McClain and Fua are probably not going to be as bad as they were last season. It's reasonable to expect that they will play better this season now that they have their rookie seasons out of the way, and they've had plenty of time in an NFL strenght and conditioning program.

I agree McClain will be better. Fua not so much.

I love the Gilmore pick but I must agree that he probably won't last to the top of the second. We'd have to trade down/up for him

I'll make a second mock draft at some point, and Coples will be gone when we pick in the first, and Gilmore gone when we pick in the second.

Coples WILL be gone at #9. He won't get past the Jags at #7.

The Jags are in a really interesting spot. I think they'll have their pick of Ingram or Coples, I just don't understand why WR isn't a bigger concern if they don't address it in free agency. They've invested last years 1st and 2nd to get Gabbert only to leave the kid out to dry with no WR talent. They have to either bring in a FA WR or use a 1st or 2nd on the position, otherwise I have to really question the GM's judgement.

I'm also a little biased for Coples to be available at #9. :D
