Or have her sing it the night before and the kids would just fall asleep.

this will shock some, but there are teens who do in fact wait. its very rare but it happens.

We as a society keep lowering our standards. Similar to no freshman playing college hoops to now middle kid school kids getting "recruited".

They say kids grow up too fast, I say they are exposed to too much too early. Let a kid be a kid for crying out loud.

I just hope if a kid has crossed the line to even consider the morning after pill they have considered the NIGHT before protection etc.

There is a reason alot of states are considering INCREASING the driving age.

I think it's more that we're trying to let them (them? us? what are you in college) be "kids" for too long. I mean, seventeen? Not two or three generations ago you were already married and might have been pregnant by then.

Well, im 16 going on 17 in June, so I guess I can give the "kids" perspective. Sex really isn't a big deal to most kids, so hooking up with people at school is pretty common. Also, most kids rebel like that because they still think their parents aren't giving them enough responsibility. I know plenty of people who date people rather than hook up with them, and vice versa. For me personally, the opportunity has come up several times but I never did it. Just depends on the person, really.

if a kid wants to rebel due to not enough responsibility from their parents, make sure there is NO protection used and no morning after pill and then after 9 months you will have all the responsibility you can handle.

good on ya and your mindset though

With or without parental consent.

The only real point I felt like commenting on in this issue, honestly.

Some people may feel comfortable about their kids having sex. Other parents don't. The government should never usurp the right of parents to make such decisions regarding their children.

I agree, but this is a case of allowing a legal substance to be given to a person of legal consent age ... very different from allowing it to be given to a 12 or 13-year-old without parental consent.
