Do you have a link to any references? I can't find anything reputable that supports this and it seems like the type of interesting fact that would be regularly mentioned in articles about Jarrett. Mad Max was probably even crazier than DJ, but at least he was a decent player.

DWI trial set in July for former receiver | CharlotteObserver.com & The Charlotte Observer Newspaper

: Dwayne Jarrett's DUI trial has been set for July, which means that if declared innocent Jarrett will have a chance to attempt a comeback after sitting out last season.

Jarrett, who accompanied in court by his brother and former NBA player Vernon Maxwell, has been working out in Miami and hoping to get another shot in the NFL. When the Panthers drafted Jarrett 45th overall in 2007, they envisioned him as a big, pass-catching complement to veteran receiver Steve Smith. But Jarrett never produced much, finishing with 35 catches for 428 yards and one touchdown in four seasons. Jarrett did not fault the Panthers for cutting him. "It's a business and they had to do what they had to do," he said. Jarrett said a few teams called after he was released, but he believes the DWI charge scared them away. Asked whether he would consider playing in a lesser league such as the UFL, Jarrett said he wants to return to the NFL. "I still believe I can make an NFL team. I haven't given up on that yet," he said. "This lockout is putting everything on hold -- for everybody. But we'll see."

Yes I found that link too, but note I said reputable. The link you provided is not where you actually got it from. It cannot be, because it does not work:

Sarcasm dude. I joined on here two seasons ago and was a longtime lurker before that. DJ was a bit of a bust and this is why I jokingly asked "Who the hell is Dwayne Jarrett?" It would have been great if you had enlightened yourself with a simple click of my profile to notice I have been a panther fan since their first year and not assume I'm a fairweather/knowledge-less bandwagon fan that only supports this franchise because of Cam Newton (Who is doing great so far btw) and who doesn't know anything about the team before 2011 because that is not the case.

/rant

There.....I'm all better now.

And he's ONE of the many reasons Panther's fans were/are concerned with any pick that has "motor issues" (Peppers, Shelton, etc).

If jarrett was caught leaving a nightclub sober, that would be news. The fact that he is still in the nfl is a bit shocking to me, however. Figured he'd be in arena league by now

haha.

American players can make a pretty good living up there playing ball. My friend was a safety at Smith and one of his boys he played with in the secondary plays for a CFL and makes pretty good money. I met the guy one time but I forgot his name...I'll go check the rosters for him.

"imports" as they the canucks like to call them, are taxed like crazy up there. I think that's another reason why it's hard for the Raptors to attract or keep good NBA players. Another good example of something the US gov't could learn from Canadian parliament.

Just checked the CFL page and Dwayne Jarrett shows up on the Rough Riders roster: http://www.riderville.com/roster/show/id/5185

there's a couple ex-panthers on their roster. Efrem Hill, Jason Chery, Jamar Williams
