I've got the ring and I am proposing.

The key isn't the accounts, but rather finding someone that shares your feelings and attitude on spending.

I'm in the combined account group. I do wish I had a small one of my own so I could get hookers and blow without her saying, "Hey, what's this withdrawal for?"

Okay not hookers and blow. Gifts and other surprises for her.

we have combined accounts, but will be running a deficit even with meager allowance for groceries and eating out. So nobody's buying things they want in my house. :(

Thanks a lot, daycare.

I see it both ways MPF, but at this point seperate accounts doesn't make sense for us. She's a stay at home mom, and even though she is drawing some unemployment(well timed layoff) she still doesn't draw enough income that she doesn't have to depend on me.

Different situations are good for different people.

We've been dating for four years, and I do not know how it has happened.

I am definitely "marrying up" and I am not even rich!

She would kill me if she knew I posted this.

Yes I am bragging.

You better ask that woman to marry you...and quick.

She is gonna wake up one morning and figure out that she can do a hell of a lot better than you.:D

Just like my wife. I found an incredible woman who was willing to put up with me....and I snatched her up QUICK.

Wife and I had separate accounts for the longest time. However, we met after both of our careers were in full swing. We were both CPA's workign for one of the Big 4 firms. Our salaries were very similar and we already had individual accounts.

We just kept it that way. Each took about half the bills and saved an equal amount from our checks. The rest was for each of us to do with as we wanted.

Now, she is a stay at home mom and we have one account....which she completely controls.

Hell, I could not even tell you what accounts I have or how much is in them.

the wife and I make comparable income. It all goes into one pot. Seems silly to seperate things....I pay the light bill, she buys the diapers, tell her she better come up w/ half the vacation cash or we ain't going etc.

if I was divorced or getting married late in life...I might do seperate accounts.

She knows that I don't have a clue about the accounts.

If she wanted to take all my money, she could.

I just hope and pray that she does not get tired of me. I would have divorced me YEARS ago.
