The thing nobody is discussing is what if Cam misses any time this year? Are they possibly going to bring Anderson back, seems like they would have already re-signed him, unless he is testing the market. It seems to be a consensus that Clausen can't run this offense and we don't want to trust it to a 6th round draft pick (Russel Wilson or Darron Thomas). I'd like Anderson back for one more year while Wilson/Thomas/Dixon learns the system. Jimmy's $1M can cover at least part of what we would have to pay Anderson.

clausen showed a huge improvement in training camp/practice over last year.

obviously its still not enough to overcome the superhuman cam newton. i'd be totally fine if clausen stuck around as cam's backup if he continues to progress and keeps up to date with the system.

chud doesn't exactly run an offense u can learn overnight. having a capable backup is a good thing, otherwise we might end up like the colts.

Chud has already stated he's loooking forward to see what Clausen can do the upcoming year. He poses no trade value or decent cap space saved.

No reason not to wait and see what he can do this in camp and preseason

We kept Clausen around to reward him for his legendary efforts in helping us draft our franchise QB.

He will be kept in case the Taints* are still bounty hunting. If they are, Jimmy will start against the Taints* instead of Cam.

You should probably calm down before u pop a blood vessle in your forehead.

Take your medication and have a cup of coffee. Relax... Breathe...
Repeat until desired results are achieved.

And we kept Jimmy because we need a back up QB, and he knows the system. I don't believe Jimmy is going anywhere tbh

you try sooooooo hard...

We kept him out of pity, cause he will be lucky to find a job after we cut him/his contract is up.

They may be working on finding a trade.

I would be surprised if this happens. Who knows maybe Miami will want him, or the Browns.

I don't know where I read it, but if i remember correctly we have about 2 weeks to cut him before we owe him a bonus.

Yeah, here it is:

Due a $923,000 roster bonus on March 27, Clausen is a strong candidate for release after being inactive for all 16 games in 2011, but Rivera insists "he's most certainly a guy that's in the mix in terms of ... competing."

We could be trying to get a team that needs a qb to give us anything for him once they don't get Manning or Flynn before we cut him.

Since we signed Anderson, i see no reason to keep Jimmy, most likely he will be cut or traded before the bonus deadline.
