Steve Gregory > Jim Leonard and Reggie Nelson. Just because you do not know who he is, does not mean hes not better than guys you know about. Eric Weddle gets all the press, but Steve is a Marlon McCree type guy. Would be awesome for us, on ST and on D, and would be BIG bang for the buck.

i wonder how many Legedu Naanee situations we're going to have where we start some former charger scrub for half a season before riveras loyalty finally wears off and he realizes he completely blows

I'd say none.... if I had to guess.

I know it's already been responded to, but I can't help it...wtf difference does it make where players come from? If they're good guys, and more to the point, if the coaches know them, doesn't that make it better?

Gregory is actually a very good starting safety. Immediate upgrade from Martin.

There are other teams in this league besides the Panthers you know..

okay .. officially tired of bringing in Charger rejects .. outta control

Unless you have a legitimate complaint about the player besides him being a former Charger, then I'm going to file this post under "don't care". Rivera had a great defense when he was in San Diego, there's nothing wrong with him bringing in former favorites for cheap. Low risk/high reward if you ask me. Our defense is bad. We might as well start with players that actually fit the scheme that Rivera is trying to implement. What's the harm?

He graded 74th among 86 NFL safeties by Pro Football Focus this season

sad enough he'd probably still be an upgrade though
