Very happy to hear that. I'm more comfortable with him backing up Cam than Clausen. Also it's comforting that he knows Chud's system so well. Good signing.

Panthers quarterback Derek Anderson says he’s agreed to a one-year contract to remain with Carolina.

He would not disclose the financial terms of the deal.

Anderson says he likes the progress the Panthers showed in 2011 under first-year coach Ron Rivera and that he’s “just excited to get back and build on the success that we had last season.”

"He would not disclose the financial terms of the deal." statements like this always make me question how accurate reports of cap space really is.

Good.

Keep Shockey, Applewhite and Williams as well and I 'll be happy.

Not always accurate, but places like ESPN and NFL.com get the information from the teams and contracts..

Doubt it unless we are offered a draft pick. Hurney will not label him a bust just yet.

Guess we can say goodbye to drafting Russell Wilson

Good deal to bring him back. Knows the system and is better than Pickles. Plus he seemed okay last year being the backup to Cam

Release Clausen to negate Anderson's salary.

BTW, I'm glad Anderson takes this sh*t seriously.

I like that we have him back, he looked decent enough through TC and preseason. Having Clausen, a rookie or some guy off his couch stuck as our #2 would likely mean an auto-loss anytime Cam missed time. I'd like to see the price tag before proclaiming it a great move but either way, glad to have him.
