when Beason, and Davis went down was the worst in the league besides connor imo. I don't excpect big FA signing's but what I do excpect is depth...We have NONE and we just lost Connor to Dallas, these players being brought in at linebacker are complete garbage...I mean come on that was obviously the position that needed 2-3 FA pieces as filers if Beason or TD go down again...

Davis is running 4.5's in rehab and no one should ever doubt Bease. Anderson is solid money. CPanthers will have THE LB core of the league this year. Connor and Senn were good backups. Relax, it's June, oh wait, it's March. Dude, they will be better than fine.

Like I said would draft Luke, for those 2 reasons and Connor. In 1 season LB went from our strongest unit to our weakest

manny lawson, david hawthrone? do we have the money.
i would like to draft kuechly but if we could solidify the lb position in FA, it would be easier for us to concentrate on DT and CB in the first two rounds.

Thomas Williams, Omar Gaither, and Jason Williams are just as good as the other backups we lost.

I agree we need linebackers and not just depth but guys who can contribute in the rotation and start if necessary given the uncertainty with davis and Beason. I would love Kuechly at 9 but can also see taking a corner or D linemen as well. I am high on Kuechly because I think he is special and there isn't anyone close to his talent or production in the draft. But you could make the same case for Claibourne or Blackmon, or even Coples (if he is the next Julius Peppers).

In any event we need linebackers and we really can't count on both daviss and Beason returning to their pre-injury form. I would love if we could but when have we gotten that lucky before????

If you honestly think Connor was the best thing about our linebackers last season, then either you're a fool or you didn't watch our games. Hell, even if you only pulled up the stat sheet you'd be better informed than that nonsense. There's a reason we didn't try to hold onto Connor. He's slow, nonathletic, completely worthless in our system, and can barely keep up with a four year old. Way to snub James Anderson btw. The guy worked his ass off trying to fill Beason's shoes and he did a remarkable job. Too bad there were two huge holes on either side of him and our linebacker corps still ended up looking like ass. Anderson played so well, that if Beason doesn't come back to full form next season, we already have a backup plan. LOL Connor was the only highlight. That's a good one. You sure you didn't come here after jumping off the Saints bandwagon?

expected these type player to be sign by panthers
70-79: Good Starter
Solid starter who is close to being an outstanding player. ... Has few weaknesses and usually will win his individual matchup but does not dominate in every game, especially when matched up against the top players in the league.
60-69: Average Starter
A valuable roster player but not a dominant player against the better players he faces on a weekly basis. ... Gives great effort and teams are glad to have him, but he may or may not go to the next level.
50-59: Good Backup
This is a player who is really on the bubble and only starts because of a deficiency at the position. ... He lacks complete overall skills, and although he will battle, he will hinder his team's ability to play at a championship level if he is forced to be in the starting lineup consistently over a 16-game season. Teams don't mind having him on the roster but are always looking to upgrade.

We seriously need LB's added to the roster, and quite frankly, we need 2 players capable of starting. After James Anderson, Jon Beason, and Thomas Davis (both of them coming off of injury), we have Kion Wilson, Jason Williams, Jason Phillips, Phillip Dillard.

Really underwhleming, and a HUGE POSITION of NEED.

No, the huge positions of need are the places that we don't even have starters for (CB, DT, O-Line)

We have 3 very good linebackers. Sure, two are coming off injuries, but there are other positions that don't even have starters at all.

I was just wondering since drafting a CB is often mentioned around here, how did Hogan do last year in his limited action? Is he not considered starter material?

I still think we are going to address this in the draft. There are several starting caliber LB's that could be snatched in the early rounds.
