seriously though, if you torture a man to get that kind of knowledge, you better be damned sure he has it or you're gonna go on a wild goose chase with a body count of around 3 million. This type of scenario is the exact reason why torture is an unreliable method of interrogation. Do you believe him if he says he doesn't know? What do you do then? Because he WILL give you a city, it'll just probably be the wrong one.

Iran is about to go nuke...The taliban may take over a nuclear Pakistan, but you don't think this is a realistic scenario? It may not be this year or next, but it is in the near future.

what terrorist? did we capture a terrorist? how do we know where his family is? Where did we catch him? Is he from the same group? when was the last time he was in contact with them? what rank is he in the group? do we actually know? is the information on his background reliable? is there a chance he doesn't actually know the info you're looking for? Is there a chance that he was fed false information to throw us off track?

The biggest problem with interrogation is that the interrogators must TRUST the information which they are getting from the subject, the best way to be able to do that is to develop an exchange with the subject. Torture simply doesn't yield reliable info often enough to be a viable interrogation tool, the CIA and comparable organizations have said as much numerous times.

Please folks, come clean and tell us you approve of torture because of the revenge factor. It's the only logical reason to use it.

Personally I'd just work to convict the baddie and sentence him for life without parole....in a New York City prison.

Well I'd say that thats the only recruiting tool for Al Queda that might have a better chance of success than having GW Bush as the US President.
