He wont be playing much RB as he will FB. This opens up the offense even more

Ok lets talk about Tolbert.

-Big power back with some speed
-Will help out in the redzone a lot and take pressure off of Cam
-As of now, will give us 3 great running backs

Im excited.

Stewy is as good as gone... Via trade

or after this season, they cut Williams at age 30.

I think this move shows they will do something. Maybe not today, but definately after this season is up.

So it is either going to be that we are apparently going against conventional wisdom that since this is a passing league you don't need a stable of good running backs or it is true we are entertaining trading Stewart. So if that happens then the folks that felt we didn't need 2 great backs got their wish. Only now it is Williams, Newton and a decent back instead of Stewart. My how the worms turns.

Steve Reed@SteveReed_AP
Agent Joel Turner says Tolbert "left more than $1 million on the table" to join Carolina because he was so excited about the fit.

I think Stew is safe.

This is why I believe that he is nothing more than Goodson's replacement, except that he will actually see the field. I'm willing to bet that Hurney left money to afford all our premier backs.

ST improves as well as Rb/Fb position. I'm very much ok with this.

Jason La Canfora @JasonLaCanfora
Wouldn't project Tolbert signing as immediate indication CAR will trade J Stewart. Could be some unique RB packages in mind and Tolbert...

Jason La Canfora @JasonLaCanfora
Also brings a lot of productivity to all special teams units. Could see some of Newton/Williams/Stewart/Tolbert all on field at once

Tolbert was a Starting caliber rb had 700+ yard with 11 touchdowns. You think he signed here to become a 3rd string rb and just become a 3rd down rb or fullback. Something is up.

I think we are just going to go with a three back rotation similar to a lot of teams.

I think this move was made because teams are asking about Stewart. Maybe Cleveland is willing to swap their 4 pick for our 9th pick and Stewart. That way we can get Claiborne with the 4th pick.
