this move enables the panthers to move Stewart if they want to, but I don't see why they would want to at any point before next offseason. Tolbert will simplify game-day roster significantly and be a weapon in any number of ways.

Jason La Canfora@JasonLaCanfora
Also brings a lot of productivity to all special teams units. Could see some of Newton/Williams/Stewart/Tolbert all on field at once

I have a tingling in odd places.

This offense just got even more exciting. Cannot wait to see what Chud draws up with these guys.

If Stewart wants to test the free agent waters we just launched the first shot across the bow. This could be leverage to get him to seriously negotiate and signals if he doesn't, we will move on with what we have,

I want to see the details of the contract. Why are we wasting the few peanuts we do have for a "3rd" RB. Money could be well spent in other areas.

person makes it sound like Tolbert is insurance if we can't resign Stew next year.....oh boy

Sounds like option is insurance in the event Panthers can't re-sign Jonathan Stewart, who is entering final yr od his contract.

I think we are just going to go with a three back rotation similar to a lot of teams.

three back rotations generally involve a bunch of okay RBs all with a niche. Not 2 super studs, one solid RB....and then Cam Newton on top.

as our roster stands now, what makes up our running attack is really like nothing a team has ever put together....

People.. We have an OC who will create ways to get the FB involved. I really don't think hes coming in here as Stewart's replacement. Tolbert will be asked to do a bunch of crazy things with all of these formations Chud has.It simply expands the offense from what it already is. We could only do so much with Brockel.

Does anyone see where Im coming from?

Add Smith and Olsen, defenses won't know what to do.

I know Im in the minority here but if we can get a 1st outta Stewart, I would be ecstatic with this move. Tolbert is a poor mans Stewart so there wouldn't be a huge amount of dropoff. Not to mention Stewart could be one of the few featured backs in the NFL if he goes to the right team. His talents are wasted here. If we could recoup a 1st after using him for 4 years then win win IMO.

Assuming that we keep all these RB's on the team, our Offense is absolutely STACKED, unlike any team ever IMO.

Wonder what the terms are. If we got somebody like this for a couple mil a year then I am definately on board. Hopefully Marty didn't overspend as he is sometimes prone to doing.
