It seems a bit disturbing that almost all of these nicknames can be taken in a sexual manner.

DeAngelo Williams: shifty runner who is known for breaking big runs by shaking of defenders with a killer cut back.

Jonathan Stewart: combo runner with both power and speed who can rattle defenders inside by lowering his head or on the outside with a nasty stiff arm.

Mike Tolbert: big bruising power runner who rolls over defenders like a bowling ball.

We need to decide fast because almost no athlete nicknames are spontaneous or come from their peers, most of them are thought up on message boards. It's gonna look bad if we don't have something to submit by preseason.

just for fun, bud. Nothing to be taken too seriously. Funny names we can refer to them as on here. And who knows, maybe they will spread to bigger and better places!!!!!

Exactly, that's my point, it's not original.

good luck.

Any nickname that sounds good, most likely won't be an original. Go back long enough, and you'll find most are retreads.

I'm sure that's true but I was mainly referring to names used in the NFL. There's a never ending supply if people get creative enough.
