you didnt see the wisconsin, ohio st, or georgia games than.Every game I have seen him play in, he was a non factor. Didn't show up at all. I wouldn't waste a pick on him

But that's the problem, he's inconsistent. And by most evaluations, so is his motor. I don't think anyone denies his physical abilities, it's his inconsistency that is pushing him down into the 2nd round.you didnt see the wisconsin, ohio st, or georgia games than.

inconsistency was from his conditioning, and technical issues. things that will be fixed at the next level considering all he will be doing is football. highly doubts he makes it to the 2nd round. But that's the problem, he's inconsistent. and he was the anchor of the best defense in the big10.

It's easy for fans to assume these things will be fixed at the next level, but that's a luxury teams don't have . A LOT of players come out with those issues and never develop like the fans want/expect...and talent level is not a determinimg factor. The thing is, the lack of consistency he showed is a red flag for teams. And I have heard more than one analyst mention his effort as a question mark as well, so it may not be as simple as coaching up his conditioning and technique. There's no denying he has talent, but he should have shown more consistency than he did, and for him to go any higher than late first (at best), he'll have to alleviate those concerns.inconsistency was from his conditioning, and technical issues. things that will be fixed at the next level considering all he will be doing is football. highly doubts he makes it to the 2nd round.

so you agree that he will go in the 1st? he does so much more things like being disruptive and taking on double teams which dont show up on a stat sheet. he has been playing well for 3 years and just anchored a Michigan St defense that was the best in the Big 10. a lot of players struggling with being consistent or what not mainly because they have to focus on other issues besides football.

At this point, I think he will go late 1st/early 2nd. However, if he can satisfactorily answer the questions about his inconsistency, I could see him going mid-first. To be honest, I would take him ahead of Poe without even blinking an eye, at least Worthy has enough highlights to show what he can be while all Poe has is his 40 time and bench numbers.so you agree that he will go in the 1st? he does so much more things like being disruptive and taking on double teams which dont show up on a stat sheet. he has been playing well for 3 years and just anchored a Michigan St defense that was the best in the Big 10. a lot of players struggling with being consistent or what not mainly because they have to focus on other issues besides football.
I don't think Worthy is a bad prospect, and I wouldn't have any problem with him here (not at #9 though), but I do worry a bit why he wasn't more consistent than he was. He obviously has the talent level to have been a dominant force every game, but didn't always show up. So this is a case where I'll have to trust the decision makers if he does end up a Panther.

I don't think anyone in this thread was actually thinking about taking him at #9 though.
Everyone was thinking more along 2nd round or trade down and get him late in the first round.
Just covering our bases for sure. Rivera is a details freak so its not surprising that we are looking at many options.
Are you implying that Rivera isn't legitimately impressed by this kid?
