PFT

Dick Durbin (D-Ill.) has announced that a hearing of the Judiciary Committee will be convened on the topic.
“Many sports involve human contact and the chance of serious injury. But when an injury is by design and is paid for, we’ve moved beyond any definition of sport,” Durbin said in a statement released by his office. “I’m happy that the NFL acted swiftly once a bounty program was discovered. But questions remain about what the NFL and other professional and collegiate sports organizations are doing to protect their players and the integrity of their sports.
“After consulting with Judiciary Committee Chairman Patrick Leahy and Crime Subcommittee Chairman Sheldon Whitehouse, I will convene a hearing to explore the prevalence of this bounty practice and determine whether existing sports bribery laws should be expanded to include a prohibition on bounties.”

You have got to be fuging trolling.

If not that’s just about the most stupid thing I’ve ever seen on these forums and that’s saying something.

holy crap.

how about letting the industry legislate itself and not get the gov't involved.

government is intrusive enough and as a result broke enough that they don't need to be meddling.

if the government does get involved i think the penalties should be doubled for the saints just for getting the gov't's attention and them getting involved.

morons.

The NFL can handle it's own business. Please mind the government's business. Thank you.

It pisses me right the hell off. Obama has no right to be sticking his nose in how a company handles their business. Companies should decide how they want to handle crimes committed by their employees, since when does the government get to stick their fuging noses in how crimes are dealt with? And taxes are too high as it is! This is socialism, flat out.

No it doesn't because we all know where this is going. Especially when someone attaches some congressman named to "Obama's America" or "Obama's government" or "Obama's taxes" etc. Then it's going to lead to the taxes, big government, immigration, blah blah yadda yadda. Then it's jsut going to lead to *** for tat then the articles are going to be linked and it just going to degrade into a 21 page e peen flamefest. Besides Conservatives just make sh#$ up anyway :D .
